Muriel Hughes

Muriel Isabella Hughes is a personal injury attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee. Muriel is experienced in representing plaintiffs in personal injury claims and now manages Bailey & Greer’s mass tort cases for Camp Lejeune Water litigation. She strongly advocates for her clients and strives to provide excellent results.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Mississippi College. She earned her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, with a concentration in criminal law from The University of Mississippi School of Law. As a law student, Muriel was a member of the Mississippi Law Journal and served as the Executive Online Editor for Volume 91. She was also a member of Moot Court, the Negotiation Board, the Student BAR Association, and the Law Association for Women.

In 2020, TEDxUniversityofMississippi selected Muriel as a headlining speaker. She discusses in her TEDx talk why more women should be involved in politics. The Law School also chose her for an Externship at Shelby County District Attorney's Office where she assisted in the Domestic Violence Unit. Muriel is currently a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, and American Bar Association.
